Current legislation demands that employers ensure that all portable appliances are safe. Whether you are a business, a homeowner, an estate/letting agent or a landlord we offer a service to allow you to meet your legislative, insurance and health and safety obligations. Northants PAT Testing can visit your business and test ALL of your appliances without interupting your business.

Northants Pat Testing will provide a prompt, professional service and work flexible hours to suit customers' needs with minimum disruption to the workplace within the field of electrical health and safety. All of our work is to the latest standards regarding Electrical testing using BS approved equipment. Our quality engineers have been trained with Qualifications and are all CRB checked.

To accompany your annual PAT test certificate, our engineers will produce a detailed electrical testing report that lists all the assets tested.

This report will also help towards documentating your asset lists in case of audit/inspection. 

Customers are supplied with an itemised appliance register, Certificate of PAT testing and list of failed and passed items. Reports are provided free of charge in a bound folder (where appropriate) and can also be provided via email or disk if required

We'll even send out a reminder when your next inspection is due.

FIXED WIRE /ELECTRICAL INSPECTION AND TESTING

Periodic testing & inspecting is a very technical job, and can only be done by a competant qualified engineer. Although many electricians are able to test & inspect electrical installations, many do not hold the relevant qualification to do this work or sign and issue an electrical certificate.

Every electrical installation deteriorates with use and age. It is important for the person responsible for the maintenance of the installation to be sure that the safety of users is not put at risk, and that the installation continues to be in a safe and serviceable condition.

After we carry out the inspection and test on your electrical system we will produce an EICR which will state if the electrical installation is Satisfactory or Unsatisfactory - this decision will be based on the current electrical regulations BS7671:2008.

We hope that the installation will be Satisfactory but if your installation is Unsatisfactory the PIR Report will list Observations and Recommendations to why this is the case.

Because we only carry out the Periodic Testing itself, not the resulting remedial work, we provide an unbiased report of the condition of any installation we work on.

LEGAL REQUIREMENTS

Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 (EAWR) places a legal responsibility on employers and employees, as duty holders, to ensure that electrical systems used at work under their control are safe.

To achieve compliance with the legal requirements of the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 requires proof that an electrical system is safe, which involves amongst other things, proper inspection and testing of a system by competent people and the creation and maintenance of records.

Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 is law in the United Kingdom.
